Migrate from Cloudbeds to Apaleo

Cloudbeds-to-Apaleo is a less common but high-value migration for properties that have outgrown the Cloudbeds bundled model and want the most API-first PMS available. Typically requires a technology partner.

Why migrate

Common motivations: needing deep API integrations Cloudbeds cannot support, strategic shift to best-of-breed stack composition, or alignment with sister properties or a technology partner already on Apaleo.

Timeline

10-14 weeks for an 80-room property because of the bundled-to-marketplace assembly shift.

What to migrate

  • Same categories as Cloudbeds-to-Mews, plus Apaleo Store app configuration that must be assembled fresh.

Common pitfalls and fixes

All-in-one to marketplace assembly

Cloudbeds properties accustomed to bundled simplicity face a steeper learning curve on Apaleo's marketplace-driven model. Plan partner engagement.

Cloudbeds Payments replacement

Cloudbeds Payments is bundled; Apaleo expects a separate payment processor. Stripe, Adyen, or a regional processor needs to be configured separately.

Parallel-run pattern

2-4 weeks parallel run.

Post-migration validation

Validate API integrations, payment processor flow, and marketplace app configuration over the first 30 days.

Editorial disclosure

This playbook is published by Maciej Dudziak, founder of Guestivo. Guestivo is guest-journey software (not a PMS) and is intentionally absent from PMS migration recommendations. Both PMSes named on this page are real cloud platforms operators evaluate; the migration framing is based on category mechanics, not publisher allegiance.
