What is a guest-journey platform?

Independent hotels typically run a PMS (property management system) at the core, and a guest-journey platform on top of it. The PMS owns reservations, rates, room assignments, and channel distribution. The guest-journey platform owns everything the guest sees and interacts with: pre-arrival messaging, online check-in, in-stay messaging, AI concierge, upsell prompts, and post-stay review collection. The two systems integrate via the PMS API.
