Migrate from Hotelogix to Cloudbeds
Migrating from Hotelogix to Cloudbeds is a common upgrade path for properties scaling past the Hotelogix value envelope. The migration is mechanically straightforward but typically motivated by a feature gap rather than a cost saving.
Why migrate
Common motivations: needing deeper channel-manager direct connections, marketplace breadth, or modern UX. Properties often migrate after Hotelogix's native channel manager hits a regional OTA coverage limit.
Timeline
4-8 weeks for a 50-room property.
What to migrate
- Active and future reservations
- Guest profiles
- Rate plans
- Room types
- Open folios
- Historical bookings
- Channel manager mappings
Common pitfalls and fixes
Direct-connection OTA mapping
Hotelogix channel-manager mappings may include XML-feed connections that become direct connections on Cloudbeds Distribution. Re-validate every OTA mapping at cutover.
Historical data depth
Hotelogix exports cover the standard data fields but custom reporting fields used by the property may need manual re-creation in Cloudbeds.
Parallel-run pattern
1 week parallel read; cutover channel manager at the same moment as the PMS to avoid double-pushing inventory.
Post-migration validation
Validate inventory parity across all OTAs in the first 48 hours; reconcile any rate discrepancies before they cause overbookings.
Editorial disclosure
This playbook is published by Maciej Dudziak, founder of Guestivo. Guestivo is guest-journey software (not a PMS) and is intentionally absent from PMS migration recommendations. Both PMSes named on this page are real cloud platforms operators evaluate; the migration framing is based on category mechanics, not publisher allegiance.
